Dynamic Action Icons

Is there a way to create dynamic Action Icons?
I would like to create an icon which counts the total number of open tasks as well as one that shows total tasks in the project which update dynamically. Clicking this Action Icon would bring the user to another view with the relevant details.
Sample Screen
Action icons are represented in the picture as “12” and “18” in the first project.
