Format Menu Dropdown

Is there a way to format the Menu on the top-left? I know we can change the icons but it would be nice to be able to change colors too.

I would like the ability to add color to the menu items, this would give the ability to use a color code schema to connect certain things in the app. For instance, I have an action visible at various places in my app, each colored the same, and they all lead to a view that’s in the main menu.
