Formula ignored on a key column when adding a new row

Hi.

Is it expected that a table formula on a key column be ignored when an action is executed?

I have build an action which do: add new row to another table…. I use it to create a record in the same table from which the action is triggered (so a form does not pop up). On this table I have 2 column formulas including one on the Key column. The one on the Key column is ignored and UNIQUEID() seems to be executed instead.

Thanks for this article! I had read it before making this post.
You make me realized that my question brought some confusion because of the poor choice of words I made. I will come back with pictures if I notice this behaviour again.
