Group by Column order

I have a view in which I want a specific column order and grouping. I am able to Sort by :Name and Group by: Status. However when I attempt to set the column order I order my columns
Name, Status, Notes.
Status does not show up. However if I do not Group by: Status it does show up. My issue is that I want to enable quick edit on Status. and If I cannot see it then I cannot edit it.

Can you add a VC for Status (i.e., VC app formula is [Status]) and use that to group by?

Yes that’s the normal behavior. When you choose the status column as a “Group By”, it doesn’t show that column in a table view. The approach from @Bellave_Jayaram is then needed.
