I do recall reading in the past that AppSheet mentioned supporting HIPPA compliance - a similar set of rules. At that time, it was requested that anyone needing to support HIPPA contact AppSheet directly.

In my reading, HIPPA is more stringent that HL7 BUT the data transfer syntax is different.
