Hello.

Can an app’s Install Link and Browser link be retrieved from within the app?

(Levent KULAÇOĞLU) #2

@Christian_Farley2 if you open the app from the browser, you can see the app link for sure. To get the install link, it’s enough to substitute the “start” with “newshortcut”. But an ordinary user should explicitly be aware of this trick.

@Christian_Farley2 Not automatically, but you could always include it as part of your data or in a virtual column.

There are links in the editor’s User pane. But I’m guessing you want to have a function like INSTALL_LINK() or something like that?

@praveen Exactly. This would be useful in bluilding an automated mail notification through a workflow rule. I am currently hardcoding it, but If I branch a new version of the app by copying it, the hard coded link is no longer valid.

Ah, look for “Builtin variables” in this article. You can use these in a workflow rule. Using _APPID inside a CONCATENATE, you can construct the appropriate URLs. help.appsheet.com - Template Variables Template Variables help.appsheet.com
