How can your trap invalid data on hidden fields?

Here’s the issue.

1. Enter invalid data in a field (like non-numeric in a numeric field)

2. Choose some other field (like a Y/N) that conditionally hides the field in 1. above

3. Because the field is hidden, in-built field validation does not happen.

4. Choose Save and you have created an invalid record that never Syncs!

I can’t see any way of preventing this, can you?

I have even tried keeping the field (1.) on show if it is not blank. However, until the record is actually saved the field is not recognised as non-blank!

A bit of a dilemma with serious consequences.

Any ideas?
