How to keep some fields the same once selected until users changes them again

Hi I want to be able to selected a user from a list. Then when the user enters information and saves it. I want the user to be keep the same without having to selected it every time. Then when this information is saved they can then move to a gallery with only this information saved by this user on the same job.
The database will have the name of the user on each item record. The job number will also be static

Sounds like User Settings may be something you could use. However your requirements are not very clear.
