I would like to create an app for tracking “a man in a van”. We have a driver and need to record all movements to and from etc, hopefully with the use of GPS (within the google map limits)…I would like to record mileage, to and from data geographically. I would also like to assign driver jobs on the app for him to follow? would this be possible?

Hi Nick, we don’t have tracking yet, but +Gil Littman is starting to work on this capability.

However, take a look at the Driver Jobs samples (there’s two of them — one for dispatch and one for the drivers) — that will do the job assignment well. Drivers can also explicitly record mileage, etc. And GPS location can be captured automatically if the driver has to complete some task in the app (eg: record a delivery).
