I would like to have more forms for a specific table, showing different columns to fill out.

Sometimes it would be helpful to have more than one form for the same table, focusing in on the exact data you want to capture. Some data is best captured together, other data might be unrelated, and registered from another physical location, by another person, or in another time-frame. No matter when and where the app user is using the app, it is useful to have a form be as simple and clutter-free as possible, asking only for the information the user has available at the time.

I know how to create new forms, and I imagine it would be easy to add more than one form per data source, but I can’t seem to think of a way to have different form views show different columns.

Is this just not a feature yet, or am I missing something?

You can do that with slices. Create a suitable slice where you can choose all columns you need and then call that slice for your form view.
