Initial value does'nt work?

Hi,
I have an initial value, which is an expression that works perfectly within a formula.
It is blank when used in the initial value though. I am not sure why.
All I could think of was maybe the action to get to the form was a linktoform but it is’nt.
The action is a linktorow which does’nt input values to columns like linktoform does.

Any ideas?

I have also just noticed my other column used to input the date with NOW() does’nt work.

I believe the reason is the initial value functionality. It will calculate the value only when the new record is created. It doesn’t update the value when updating a record unless the option “Reset on edit?” is set as ON.
