Inline forms different behaviour

Seems I just cant get a good understanding of Inline forms. I have an inline form that behaves the way I want on a detail form:

I have an action on the row select that creates the green check mark. GREAT!. What I wanted.

I use the exact same inline form in a data slice and it doesnt trigger the action but goes to an input form instead on row select.

I only have one inline form in the system refs. How can I stop two different behaviours for the same inline form? I want the action to trigger in both scenarious.

Actions cannot be used in forms.
