Is it possible for me to create automatic dependent drop-downs?

I have recently been looking into dependent dropdowns and it is exactly what I need. However, I’ve been wondering if it is possible to have the dropdowns automatically selected.

For example, I have a list of students between the ages 10-15 and want to create a dependent dropdown for the ages. This means that when I select a student (i.e John) then their age will automatically display (i.e 13) as the only option. What I am trying to achieve is that age is automatically selected, so that I could make that specific column hidden. Therefore, even though it is not seen as an option when creating an entry, it will still be visible and correct when viewing it after it has been made.

This wouldn’t be a dependent drop-down, as you explicitly don’t want a drop-down menu.

Instead, you can use the Initial value expression to calculate the value for the (hidden) age column.
