When I add suggested values to a field the manual input seems impossible

By “Manual input” what do you mean?

Because using suggested values still allows people to add to the list; using Valid If restricts items to only those on the list (unless you’ve got “Allow adds” turned on).

If you mean you want a text field - then no, you can’t have both a dropdown and a text field at the same time.

But your users CAN add items to that list - or at least they should be able to with the use of suggested values.

If you’re wanting to have a dropdown that people can select from and another free-text space that they can type in - you’ll need to include both.

Thank you @MultiTech_Visions. It would really be cool to use just one singe column to do both: Suggested Values OR just Text type.
I tried an IFS() expression in suggested values. But this does not eliminate the empty dropdown.
