my app keeps saving a ’ before the 1 in my google sheet, so if 1 is saved from appsheet , it looks like '1 on google sheet. has anyone seen this or know a fix?

Hi @keith_rabinowitz, Based on the description given by you,it looks like you are saving numeric values in a text type column. If it is a text type column,

then I believe having an apostrophe before a numeric digit is a normal behavior. The apostrophe indicates the back end spreadsheet that the entered value is to be treated as a text.

If you would prefer to have that column capture only numeric values in the back end without an apostrophe, then you may suitably define the column type as number or decimal type.
