New Dropdown layout

Hi all,
I’ve noticed that in an app that my colleague had created, his enum dropdown menu is different from those in my app. His buttons are different as well. He has not made any changes recently and I’m wondering if this is a new UX update rolled out halfway recently.

I think this new format is a lot better than the previous one. It is much cleaner and clearer to users too. Appreciate if anyone have more information about this.
