Features & enhancements

Item Description
Enhancement Terminate CSV export and report an error if the export time limit is exceeded

The maximum time limit for a CSV export is two minutes. Previously, if the export time limit was exceeded no error message was displayed. In this case, the CSV export might take a long time to complete and the returned CSV export file might only contain a subset of the total rows to be exported.

Now, if the maximum time limit for CSV export is exceeded, an error message is displayed, the CSV wxport is immediately terminated, and no CSV export file is returned.

awesome feature btw

Did you check this?

Basic assumption with me was

  1. Exporting to CSV by action
  2. Create Excel file by workflow (Automation)

are kinds of sibline, should do the same sort of jobs.

We did test how it would work with large amount of data set.

We tested with 50k ish number of rows on the single table.

Exporting to CSV file managed to get through. We could get the file at the end although it take some time.
However, creating Excel file for the same table, same number of record. This failed due to 2 min constrain.

Wondering why this is happening. Obviously bot is using inefficient code to create the excel file rather than action does export to csv. If possible, I really need clarification from dev team to find a way to get our challenge through.

Sorry, not really directly connecting this new feature update, but this is quite important with us, for clients who daily deals with large amont of data set with AppSheet.

Can you please tell us more about what this bug is?
