Number of records showing / hits in table

Here’s an idea for an option in table view: in the bar at the top of the view, show the number of records currently displayed.

This would allow one to know immediately how many results one has gotten to a search.

I realize that something similar is currently possible (that is, we can build a way to search and count results) but I think it would be cool if this were an option that we could just turn on or off.
