Post a message to Slack

This demo app shows how to send a message to Slack using a workflow rule when adding a row to a table. Using, the Slack API and our webhook templates, you can configure what how the message is formed in terms of who sends the message, the channel destination, the message content, etc.

Here’s how to configure things in Slack:

1. Login to Slack and create a new app:
   https://api.slack.com/apps
   

   

2. Add Incoming Webhook, and select a Channel
   

   

3. Activate Incoming Webhooks, Add New Webhook to Workspace
   

   

4. Copy the Webhook URL
   

   

5. Paste the URL into an AppSheet Workflow template, using the Slack Preset
