Prototyping an app that requires geocoding.

I understand that there is a 1,000 monthly limit for precise geocoding.

When is AppSheet hit with a geocoding charge?

Only when lat/long is first populated in a field?

Every time lat/long is read and placed on the map?

We cache the geocoded information for a short period of time so that it doesnโ€™t occur every time the address has to be shown. So think of it as directly proportional to the number of addresses.

@praveen Road tested app today.

Step the initial value of a โ€œStop Locationโ€ as the lat/long.

AppSheet neatly handles displaying a map of the โ€œStop Locationโ€ field.

It appears that one must press the blue icon connected to the map to get a precise location.

Is there a way to get a precise location automatically?

Adding my colleague @Adam_Stone_AppSheet โ€“ the device captures GPS locations in the background and caches them. However, the operation takes some time. So when a form needs to be filled in, we use the most recently acquired location. If you tap on it, it go get the current location. So it is pretty accurate if you arenโ€™t moving a lot. Otherwise, there is a delay. Adam will have more detail.
