Should Show_if have any effect on Ref views? I set one to false but it still displays.

The view’s Show_If option is built for menu and footer… so that’s why it won’t work with refs.

So sounds like if I want a view that’s only available by explicit reference (say, by a deep link), I should add it to the menu or footer and set Show_If to false.

Actually no… you have lot of options😃 For exampe you can also create a table view with app column and then you can use slice for filtering with the slice.
