Snapshot not working for in-app expressions or document templates

I’ve been trying to use the snapshot feature for a while now and it has NEVER worked. I’ve looked at all the other posts and guides but it won’t generate the image in documents or in the app view. I’ve tried linktoview() and linktofiltered view() but it doesn’t show up and when I test the formula it always times out.

I really need this feature for what I’m doing. Is there any other way or suggestions to get this working? I have wasted hours trying to figure this out.

All I’m trying to do is take a screenshot of a map view in this attempt.
