URL arguments; refresh and wipe?

I noticed these two arguments in the URL of an app today( refresh=1 wipe=1). I was wondering if perhaps they had something to do with forcing a refresh/sync if clicked on the URL from an email?

I believe those refresh and wipe params can work if you have embedded your app in an iFrame.
