Why am I getting this error?

The field is a number and only numbers are in the column.

Try SUM(SELECT(Medical Needs Program Registry PENDING[# persons evacuating],true))

That expression does work but it’s not showing up in the col where I put the app formula.

Any idea why this would be?

Solved - didn’t realize I needed to open and save the form view before it would total.

Now I just have to figure out how to count non-number columns.

Well… method for the counting is the same. You just use COUNT instead of SUM.
