Application Migration Strategy Dev/Test/Prod Best Practices

Ideally, I would love to some how export changes out of Appsheet from Version X.1 to Latest Version X.2 and use the export to update Production to version X.2. Database structure changes could be handled independently. 

In the absence of such a great feature, what is current best practice to try to keep things straight? I'm not a big fan of messing with re-pointing data, but it appears you might not have much choice.
