Date fields to be shortened

I am specifying short date fields with YYYY-MM-DD or DD/MM/YYYY format but I am finding that App Sheet is deciding to make it a Date + Time field and theyre throwing the timezone in too! Why you invading my space like that? Free my screen realestate!

try unchecking the 'Use long date format' within the column settings.
