Getting Google Forms functionality in AppSheet

Google Forms provides many capabilities that, as far as I can see, are not provided by AppSheet form views. These include checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns, multiple choices with a text field that applies only when the "other" choice is selected, and the ability to display questions conditionally based on the response to previous questions.

I wrote an automation that is supposed to run whenever a row is added to the source spreadsheet, but it seems that no table-record-appended event is fired when a new row is added to the source spreadsheet by a Google Forms submission.

I have two specific questions:

• Is there some way that I have missed to obtain the advanced Google Forms functionality in AppSheet form views?
• Is there a way to write an automation that runs when a row is added to the source spreadsheet by Google Forms?
