Google Calendar returning US date format from a European date format input. BUG?

I have an APP using a Google Calendar as Data source. We are located in Norway (Europe).

In the "Localization" setting in the table, I have tried the options "Norwegian" and "English (Norway)".

In both cases the inputs format from Appsheet is the European format DD.MM.YY and immediately the date is correct in the appsheet calendar.  All well.... I thought....

But after a SYNC to our SQL DB, the date changes and shows up as MM:DD:YY in Appsheet. So the original 7th og August is now suddenly after a SYNC moved to 8th of July.

Is this an Appsheet bug? Any suggestions for a workaround?

Thanks for asking!

Well we solved it with a workaround, using English as Localization and formatting the date in VC.

But still strange...
