How can i stop my child tables from being editable after a date?

I have child tables which I do not want to be edited after today() but I don't appear to be able to use the editable tab.

how can I go about this?

You may want to add more specific details. Could you update, by child tables do you mean inline views only when those views are presented with the parent view. Or can the child table view be independent ( not an inline view) but you would still want to disable editing on those main views of child tables as well?

Also you may want to be more specific with date part.  Everyday if checked on that day is today for certain records with that date. meaning [Date]=TODAY() could evaluate true for certain records every day.

Such more details and relevant screenshots could help understand requirement better.
