Can I allow images as choices in a type - “Enum”?
If so, How? I have entered my images and I cannot see them in the app…
NM. I figured it out…
I built a table JUST for those icons. I then Enum - ref - to that table.
BAM!
Thanks
That’s the way to do it.
Now, I don’t think an Enum Base Type Image is workable today.
Maybe a table and Ref with Image selected as Label but that will just work to show the image as option but the image will be stil inside the other table, not the column that’s Enum
Ok. I think I got it. Thanks again…
I fairly certain you can do this using a table of images. If your images are in a Google folder, you can use the new Appsheet feature to automatically pull them into a table. See images below.
You might need to tweak a couple things:
New feature to pull in Files (or Images)
Resulting Table presented in a Table view
What the dropdown looks like when used as an Enum with bse of REF
Setting Enum choice as Buttons - (Not ideal in this use case!)
oh wow. That looks great! Thanks
It’s actually the same functionality as a table holding images with the Image Column marked as Label.
I’m not trashing your answer, I just don’t use Google Services other than YT
Yeah, I was putting the post together when the other responses were posted. I decided to post even though you had already answered. Thought I’d show a little of that feature while I was at it.
It’s a good and fast solution for GDrive users
You have to turn the security options off for Enum-Image to work, for some reason.
That’s new for me and a little bit weird since it should work when the list of images comes from a column of the same app where AppSheet should take care of the signature stuff
