If child table has no reference column containing key of parent, how do I update parent if deletion?

Hi everyone. My child tables have always had a column containing the key of the parent table. I have been advised (by a non-appsheet user) to remove this parent-key column. A LIST column will then be created in the parent table containing a comma-separate list of child key values.

How do I trigger this LIST to update when I delete or add child entries? Must I create a bot just for this?

It honestly seems easier to just let REF_ROWS function that is auto-created by appsheet to handle this for me. Any recommendations?

Thank you.

I think it is better to use a ref field. That's what it was created for.
