Inventory Control (Scan QR) - Inventory Check

I developed an inventory control app for football equipment.  I will add equipment into the appropriate sheet and then have a master checkout sheet.

First, How do I ensure we control the item so it cannot be checked out twice.  We are scanning a barcode and while it shouldn't happen, this will make sure we check equipment back in.  So I would like the app to notify or block scanning if an item is marked "Out"

Secondly, the equipment checkout log is tracking the pieces of equipment being checked out and by whom.  I would like to see in the master equipment list if that piece is Out or In.
