Start another app from my appsheet

Hi,

I am working on an application for dataentry the different expenses made by a person to present to their boss to get authorize it. One of the fields is to capture the image of the ticket that the business delivers to the person when making the expense.
I would like that when the user clicks on the capture field, instead of asking for access to the phone´s camera, directly call an application to scan documents and then return to the appsheet. Is this possible?

Hi Matias!

This ultimately comes down to the device; when you tap the photo icon to add a photo, appsheet tells the phone (we need to take a photo) and the phone takes over from there. (Mind you, I’m not a dev at AppSheet, this is just my understanding of what happens. Perhaps they’ll chime in. )

You would need to configure the device to open the specific scanning app you’re wanting.

Yes, it sounds that you need to give the access for your Appsheet app from device’s settings.
