User Interactions

In the App Management tab, there is the following chart:

what constitutes an App Interaction by a user? I would like to use this to know if people are actually using the app, but it doesn't seem to be connected to their activity. Sometimes a user who I know has used the app doesn't have any activity, and also a user who didn't really do much has a lot of activity.

Can anyone help me out with this?

My understanding is its either adding, deleting or editing a row.  But maybe someone can confirm this?
