[_THIS] for UX Format rules

Did I understand correctly that [THIS] does not applicable to formatting rules?
I tried to use it to format columns with ISBLANK ([ THIS]) condition, but I get the error
"Unable to find column ‘_THIS’, did you mean ‘ID’? "

Format rules run in the context of a record, not a single column, so [_THIS] doesn’t make sense.

The assumption about the possibility of using [_THIS] appeared because the rule applies to several columns
